Forging (Innovation) Reinvented for Ultimate Forgiveness

Shinei Miura asked himself, "Why can't all golfers enjoy the benefit of a penetrating ball flight, something usually targeted towards the better player?" What does this mean for the golfer? The player is no longer sacrificing any aspect of iron play for added forgiveness. This achievement has been realized with the new CB-302, the longest forged cavity-back iron ever produced by Miura Golf.

REVOLUTIONARY CAVITY BACK

The CB-302 is a testament to the skills of the Miura Craftsmen. This iron promised to be a visually stunning iron during the original design stages, but the final product was able to transcend the Miura forging process.

IMPROVED PERFORMANCE

A precise amount of camber, leading and trailing edge relief, featuring Miura’s iconic Y grind, deliver improved performance regardless of a golfer’s swing trajectory.

CONFIDENCE AT ADDRESS

Possessing moderate offset, the CB 302’s strong and confident inducing shape will soon become hallmarks of this new iron.

Tech overview
FORGED CAVITY

The CB-302 is the largest sole width (19mm / 7 iron) we’ve ever produced at the Miura factory, rewarding the golfer with optimized forgiveness.

VARIABLE DEPTH CAVITY

Producing an iron that looks this good challenged the limits of our forging process, specifically how it relates to the use of soft carbon steel. Highlighted by the shape of the cavity, the CB-302 features optimized weight distribution and is unique to each irons’ loft. The design of the ccavity focuses the impact power at the apex of the V-cut. Allowing for effective distribution of weight between the heel and toe, while delivering a penetrating ball flight with maximum forgiveness.

DESIGN SUBTLETIES

In designing the CB-302, no area of the clubhead was neglected. The design subtleties are most noticeable in the heel, where the hosel and clubhead meet.

    Be Careful

These clubs are amazing! The feel is addictive. The distance is consistent. The look is gorgeous! However, I must warn you that these clubs are very soft. Beware of bunkers with small rocks and other hard materials that are on golf courses. I have a few deep scratches after just a couple months of playing these clubs. I now use my older set of clubs on courses that are known to have rocks. I need these CB302 irons to last a while.

We would like to put your mind at ease with respect to the durability of the CB-302's.

The fact is, these irons are no softer than any of the models in our lineup or those from other manufacturers in the marketplace. We use S20C, soft, carbon steel, and although the irons are often described as soft, and/or, buttery, it is our proprietary forging process that delivers that feeling.

As you mentioned, course conditions can dictate, which set of irons we play. But rest assured that those minor scratches and dings will not affect the playability of your irons.

Thanks again, for the great feedback will be sure to pass it along to the Miura family!

    J Grayson reply:

Your question was whether and upgrade from the 301's to the 302's is worth the purchase: Absolutely yes (but NO). My bag is made up of PP9003 in 6, 7 and 8. MB's 9, pitch. CB 301 5 iron and CB 302 4 iron. I lost (stolen?) my original 4 and 5 irons and replaced them the 5 first with the 301 thinking I could rely on my rescue for that 200yd approach. Long story short - got the newer version for a 4. Difference, yes - but it's difficult to quantify, I love my whole bag!! "More goodness/forgiveness in the newer versions but Miura doesn't make a 'bad' iron. My PP's are in great shape as I am VERY careful with them and use headcovers. When they do wear out, I'll buy the newest version to replace them - but unless your looking for a few yards on every club, wear out the 301's before you upgrade. I KNOW the 302's are easier and longer, but that makes for a perfect long iron. Play more golf - you have a bag full of Miura's!!! Heaven is already here!

    Superb irons

The CB-302 irons are simply superb. They look fantastic at address and promote confidence behind the ball. Easy to hit and the feel is exactly what you would expect from Miura and this class of iron which is buttery soft and pure. Quality is second to none, outstanding workmanship all around. Highly recommend these irons.

    CB-301 owner needs advice

    Hello sir,

I own CB-301 set. I love everything about it. However, I am thinking about moving to the new CB-302. Price of the new model is very hot in my country. Therefore, stores won’t offer a demo to hit. I don’t want to have a buyer remorse if I find out later that this new model doesn’t offer a significant upgrade over the 301. Can anyone please help advise if it’s worth the upgrade?

Thank you very much in advance for your kind help.
