Miura Forged Wedge Series Press Release

Miura Golf Launches Highly Anticipated Forged Wedge Series

The New Forged Wedge Series was designed to meld performance and feel, featuring two unique sole grinds to benefit all golfers

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (June 18, 2024) – Miura Golf, manufacturer of the world’s finest forged golf clubs, today announced the release of their new forged wedge series.

Five years in the making, the new Y and C grind soles were designed to interact crisply with the turf to enhance contact and encourage consistency. The lie, loft and face progression creates a flawless flow from the hosel through the clubhead. The clean, classic forged wedge look was developed to promote short game confidence for pros and amateurs alike.

The Forged Wedge Series enhances a golfer’s three most important senses: What a golfer sees, feels, and hears brings clarity to each shotfor the part of the game where strokes are saved, and matches are won,” said Bill Holowaty, COO, Miura Golf. Our newest wedge heads were carefully engineered to put the mass in the right places so golfers can get the optimum contact and control, allowing for easier turf travel through impact and more overall consistent ball flight.”

The Y Grind wedge is beneficial for golfers who have a neutral to steep angle of attack and tend to remove some turf through impact when playing a variety of shots around the green. This grind will offer more control and more spin for that type of player and the leading edge, high bounce and cambering of the Y Grind makes it equally as easy to get out of bunkers, soft conditions and long rough.

The C Grind is optimal for players who have a neutral to shallow attack angle in order to sweep the ball and pick it off the turf around the green. The additional heel and toe relief on this wedge allows for more confident open face shots and provides versatility to handle intricate shots and tight lies around the green on any type of turf condition.

The Miura craftsmen have improved on previous generations of wedges in a number of areasincluding overall shape, center of gravity, leading edge, grind, and bounce,” said Hoyt McGarity, CEO of 8AM Golf. “Although the Y and C grinds differ, they can be paired seamlessly and will complete your bag by giving you the ability to hit a variety of shots in a variety of turf conditions.”

Every Y and C grind wedge is stamped with the forged “Kanji” symbol, a Japanese character which translates to “striving” or “noble effort.” This embodies the ethos of Miura Golf: commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Most wedges made today are cast, but we only use fine grain, void free soft carbon steel in all of our forged clubheads,” said Yoshitaka Miura. “Our new wedges provide unmatched feel thanks to our proprietary manufacturing process, which allows us to blend tradition and innovation.”

The Y Grind wedge is available in 46°, 48°, 50°, 52°, 54° and 56° lofts. The C Grind wedge is available in 54°, 56°, 58° and 60° degree lofts.
